Switch Matrix Catalog - Switch Solutions

Dow-Key has vast experience in designing and manufacturing matrix solutions with excellent performance. We are experts in custom designs - from small 1RU design to full integrated 19" rack solutions - and we offer many different types of COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) switch solutions starting with 1U up to 4U design.

Switch Product Catalog

Dow-Key has an extensive coaxial and waveguide portfolio with switches operating up to 40 GHz for coaxial switches and up to 70 GHz for waveguide switches, along with miniature switches, programmable delay line and attenuators, and with the latest addition of Low PIM switches for PIM sensitive applications.

Next Generation Matrix Platform Brochure

The next generation platform is engineered around a flexible and efficient modular system architecture comprised of a series of brackets, panels and electronic-boards that are universal among all Dow-Key electromechanical models. Commercial-Off- The-Shelf (COTS) solutions are not only cost effective, but can also easily be re-configured by adding RF switches to a single enclosure – from simple to complex combinations. This new platform is easily field upgradable and repairable.

Space Product Brochure

Dow-Key has been a premier supplier of space qualified coaxial and waveguide switches since 1970. We design, fabricate and test all integrated switch blocks assemblies and individual switches in house and have had an in-flight failure free record in over 100 different space programs using over 150 different product designs. With decades of experience and knowledge, we are confident in providing high reliability solutions which can withstand the severe environments that space imposes on complex systems.

Guide to Selecting a Coaxial Switch

This tutorial will guide the user in selecting the right switch configuration for one's application by identifying critical switch parameters and characteristics. It further introduces the user to all available options offered with a coaxial switch.

Creating Your Own RF Switching System

This application note introduces an alternative way of meeting switching needs by showing how to design your own RF switch solution using CANBus switches together with a controller kit.

A Guide to RF Switching Systems Requirements

Whether you are designing an RF switching system or planning to purchase one, it is important to understand the fundamentals of these complex systems and the ways in which application requirements impact cost and performance. This paper will explain the requirements placed on switching systems and the tradeoffs that different choices presents.

Switch Solutions for Systems with Low PIM Requirements

This paper focuses on defining Passive Intermodulation and the concerns around PIM. It also discusses the cause of PIM in both general terms and in switches, in addition to, providing a solution for systems with low PIM requirements.

Targeting PIM Testing

Bandpass/bandstop (BP/BS) and lowpass/highpass (LP/HP) diplexers meeting rigid Passive Intermodulation (PIM) specifications are the essential building blocks of innovative testing system architectures. By integrating these filters with Dow-Key's switch matrices, an OEM can construct a single automated test system capable of covering a variety of frequency bands. Test systems of this kind can be further expanded to accommodate injection of interfering signals, monitoring ports and other customer requirements.

LabVIEW FPGA and Software-Designed RF Instrumentation

National Instruments is leading the way in providing more open and flexible measurement devices based on field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology. Learn how you can use NI LabVIEW FPGA to design and customize your RF instrumentation, and discover the advantages software-designed instrumentation can provide in your test systems.
