Peregrine_PE423422_PR_PhotoAEC-Q100 Grade 2 certified; designed for automotive wireless applications

Richardson RFPD Inc. announced the availability and full design support capabilities for a new RF single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch from Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation.

The PE423422 delivers excellent linearity and harmonics performance. It is designed to cover a wide range of automotive wireless applications from 100 to 6000 MHz, including automotive infotainment and traffic safety applications. Blocking capacitors are not required if DC voltage is not present on the RF ports. The PE423422 is manufactured on Peregrine’s UltraCMOS® process, a patented variation of silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology on a sapphire substrate, offering excellent RF performance.

The new SPDT switch is HaRP™ technology-enhanced and has received AEC-Q100 Grade 2 certification by meeting the quality and performance standards required for use in harsh automotive environments. It joins the PE423641 SP4T 50–3000 MHz switch in Peregrine’s family of AEC-Q100 Grade 2 certified switches for automotive wireless applications.

According to Peregrine, additional key features of the PE423422 include:

  • Supports operating temperatures up to +105ºC
  •  Low insertion loss:

o   0.25 dB @ 1000 MHz

o   0.40 dB @ 3000 MHz

o   0.65 dB @ 5000 MHz

o   0.90 dB @ 6000 MHz

  • High isolation:

o   41 dB @ 1000 MHz

o   28 dB @ 3000 MHz

o   20 dB @ 5000 MHz

o   16 dB @ 6000 MHz

  • High linearity:

o   IIP2 of +115 dBm

o   IIP3 of +73.5 dBm

  • High ESD tolerance:

o   1kV HBM on all pins
