Huawei and Korean telecom operator LG U+ announced the completion of joint 5G tests, demonstrating cell peak rates of 31 Gbps and latency less than 0.5 ms.

Millitech, a microwave brand of Smiths Interconnect, released new GaN power amplifiers with exceptional output power and power-added efficiency (PAE) at E-Band and W-Band. Offering up to 2.5 W output power and up to 20% PAE, typical gain is from 15 to 40 dB.

Keysight Technologies Inc. and CommSolid demonstrated the successful completion of a NarrowBand-IoT (NB-IoT) connection with the Keysight E7515A UXM base station emulator and wireless test set during Vodafone’s Innovation Days 2016. Establishing a Cat-NB1 device link was the result of a collaboration between Keysight and CommSolid. The Keysight UXM is the world’s first wireless test set to demonstrate connectivity with an NB-IoT device that complies to the standards.

The II-VI EpiWorks Division of II‐VI Incorporated is breaking ground on a new production facility in Champaign, Illinois. The expansion, planned to complete by mid-2017, will enable a quadrupling of capacity over the next three years.

Targeting wireless infrastructure and other communications equipment, Integrated Device Technology (IDT) introduced four dual-channel fanout buffers for distributing high frequency clock and data signals. The 1.8 V LVDS buffers add very low phase jitter, typically less than 45 fs.
