Sivers Semiconductors AB announced that its subsidiary Sivers Wireless has received an order for the IC component from TMYTEK in Taiwan, a company that provides mmWave solutions for 5G and satellite communications. This new order opens up new opportunities in the Asian market, even if the order value is minor at this stage.
The order comprises sample components and evaluation kit which will be used for test and evaluation of the IC performance and how it meets TMYTEK requirements for various beamforming application scenarios. “We are very pleased to receive this order from TMYTEK, a mmWave total solution provider based in Taiwan. As 5G is a big and increasing market in Asia we are very thrilled about the interest in our technology and the growth potential this may implicate for our 5G mmWave products on the Asian market.” said Anders Storm, CEO of Sivers Semiconductors.
The IC is intended for 5G phased antenna array applications. Unmatched scalability enables very large array configurations while limiting the number of digital interfaces. Due to its flexible control interface, scalability and low power dissipation, it is the perfect choice for 5G NR beamforming applications.
