Sivers Semiconductors announced that the company has signed a long term supply contract and received the first substantial volume order for the new 2D RF Module, the BFM06009 from 8devices, a Lithuanian company providing wireless broadband access products on a global basis. The estimated value of the supply contract for the first four years is based on 8devices’ volume forecast and is estimated to 70-100 MSEK, $8.2M to $11.8M.

This is the first step towards volume deployments of 8devices’ new product starting in 2021, for which Sivers Semiconductors has already delivered samples for the initial prototypes. Given the high demand from 8devices’ customers, volume deployments on the U.S. market are expected to start during the first half of 2021.

“We are thrilled to work with 8devices with their speed, professionalism and experience within the mmWave market. It is exciting to see the ambition and aggressive plans of 8devices and we look forward to work closely with them to secure the success with their customers. Since 8devices already has a lead customer in the US, we expect to see growth in volumes quite soon,” said Anders Storm, CEO of Sivers Semiconductors.

Jonas Sabaliauskas, CEO of 8devices said, “We appreciate the new and compelling module from Sivers. It gives a unique selling argument towards our global customers. With the unique support for the full 57 to 71 GHz in combination with two-dimensional beam steering, our customers get the flexibility and performance they need to be successful. This is already visible with our lead customer in the U.S. and we have other customers expressing great interest already lined up for business.”

The estimated business value with 8devices for 2021 is expected to be approximately 9 MSEK, with the main part to be billed in connection with the deployments in the second half of 2021.
