Amplifier system employs advanced broadband RF matching networks and combing techniques, EMI/RFI filters, and all qualified components in a compact, lightweight, modular design
Richardson RFPD Inc. announced the availability for a new solid state broadband high power amplifier from Empower RF Systems, Inc.
The 2175/BBS2E4ARR is suitable for multi-octave bandwidth, high-power continuous wave, modulated, and pulsed applications. It utilizes high-power LDMOS devices that provide wide frequency response, high gain, high peak power capability, and low distortions. Exceptional performance, long-term reliability and high efficiency are achieved by employing advanced broadband RF matching networks and combining techniques, EMI/RFI filters, and all qualified components.
The amplifier is constructed within a single 3RU drawer, including the forced air-cooling, and includes a built-in control and monitoring system, with protection functions which preserve high availability. Remote management and diagnostics are available via an embedded web server.
According to Empower, additional key features of the 2175/BBS2E4ARR include:
- Operating frequency range: 20–1000 MHz
- Power output CW: 500W (in manual gain control mode)
- Power output @ 1 dB gain compression (P1dB): 250 dB
- Power gain @ 1 dB compression (G1dB): 60 dB
- Gain flatness: +/-3 dB
- Supply voltage range: 180–260 VAC
