Abstract:

Join Empower RF for a live 30 minute discussion with examples of combining multiple amplifiers to achieve power levels adequate for replacing TWTs, Magnetrons and Inductive Output Tube. Three real world applications are used to illustrate the problems encountered and solved when combining a large number HPAs. The use cases include 4kW L band Satellite Uplink SSPA transmitter, S band 12kW long pulse widths and duty cycle for environmental electromagnet effects testing (E3) and C band 8kW long pulse for open air radar range testing. The webinar topics include reducing Insertion loss, handling power imbalances, Isolated loads, VSWR and Gain and Phase matching.

Presenter Bios:

Paulo Correa is Empower RF’s CTO with 42 years of experience in RF and microwave with past roles including Director of Advanced Studies at Thales and CTO at Thomson Broadcast and Multimedia. With 13 patents to his name, Mr. Correa is also the architect of Empower’s intelligent and flexible Next Generation series of amplifiers.

George Bollendorf brings 30 years of broad electronics industry experience to his role as Empower’s Marketing and Business Development Manager. His career path includes a BSEE, board level high speed digital design and low noise analog front ends, Xilinx FPGA FAE, and semiconductor manufacturer representative. The transition to marketing professional began in 2007 when he added a marketing MBA to the mix. With a technical bias George leads the product and market strategy, brand messaging and marcom.

Jon Jacocks is the President and CEO of Empower RF Systems. He joined Empower in November 2007 as the VP of Sales, transitioning into the CEO role in 2013. An RF and components industry veteran, Jon career includes started his career with Avantek and held positions of increasing responsibilities at Hewlett Packard, Agilent, and Avago Technologies and the transition to HP. Jon is a former Army officer with a BS in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State and MBA from Virginia Tech.
