Peregrine debuts AEC-Q100 certified SPDT RF switch

Peregrine Semiconductor Corp., a fabless provider of high-performance radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs), announced it has launched an Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) Q100-certified SPDT RF switch. The HaRP™ technology-enhanced PE42359 switch is certified to AEC-Q100 Grade 2, meaning it is qualified for operation in the extended temperature range of -40 to +105 degrees Celsius.

More than 1M smart watches will be shipped in 2013

Smart watches have been around for the last decade. The wearable computing device has failed to take off for one reason or another: they looked ugly, were too bulky, had weak functionality, or the battery life was not good enough. However, over the last nine months a number of new smart watches have emerged that could change consumers’ perceptions. Market intelligence firm ABI Research projects more than 1.2 million smart watches will be shipped in 2013.

Training grant leads to promotions at Laser Services

Laser Services Inc. announces the promotion of three of its employees as a direct result of receiving a Workforce Training Grant in 2012. They were awarded the training grant last April to train employees in Lean Manufacturing and other advanced manufacturing techniques. Linear introduces I/Q sampling digital predistortion receiver

Linear Technology introduces the LTM9013, a wideband RF-to-digital µModule® (micromodule) receiver that includes a high performance dual 14-bit, 310Msps analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a high IIP3 I/Q demodulator, two variable gain amplifiers, and 300MHz lowpass filters. The LTM9013’s quadrature sampling architecture enables acquisition of up to 300MHz of signal bandwidth with IMD3 performance of 66dB across the entire band.
