Technion students design synthetic aperture radar simulator using NI AWR Design Environment

The students at Technion—Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel have successfully designed a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) using NI AWR Design Environment™. The design challenge was to build an efficient, easy-to-use SAR simulator that would connect to MATLAB for signal processing and that could handle many targets on the surface and then use MATLAB to calculate the object shapes.

Raytheon to display groundbreaking new Patriot radar at US Army trade show

The world's newest missile defense radar is gearing up for a road trip. Raytheon Co. funded, developed and built a new Gallium Nitride (GaN) powered Active Electronically Scanned Array main antenna for the combat-proven Patriot Air and Missile Defense System. Raytheon will exhibit its prototype Patriot full-scale, GaN-based AESA radar in the company's booth at the Association of the United States Army's Global Force Symposium and Exposition in Huntsville, Ala., March 15-17.
