Ducommun Receives Contract from Airbus for Satellite Communications Components

Ducommun Inc. announced that it has received a contract from Airbus Defence and Space to design and manufacture high reliability (Hi-Rel) switch matrices used in space. Ducommun will produce the switch matrices at its Carson, Calif., operations center through July 2018. A switch matrix is a system of electronic components that route RF signals between multiple inputs and outputs. Airbus will use the Hi-Rel switch matrices on satellites that provide mobile communications for both military and commercial customers in remote areas.
