Aeroflex adds multi-UE support for CA to TM500 LTE-A test mobile

 Aeroflex Ltd. announced the launch of the TM500 Multi-UE LTE-A Test Mobile, which supports carrier aggregation across multiple mobile terminals or UE. Carrier aggregation, a key component of LTE-A, allows multiple carriers comprised of either contiguous or non-contiguous spectrum to be added together, allowing wider channel bandwidths -- and higher data rates -- to be achieved.

Raytheon unveils Excalibur projectile with dual-mode guidance

Raytheon Co. has initiated an internally funded program to enhance its combat-proven 155mm Excalibur GPS-guided projectile with a new guidance and navigation unit (GNU) with a semi-active laser (SAL) end-game targeting capability. Addition of the SAL seeker will allow the munition to attack moving targets, attack targets that have re-positioned after firing, or change the impact point to avoid casualties and collateral damage.
