Revolutionary EW technology to detect and counter emerging radar threats

On the modern battlefield, the use of electronic warfare (EW) is essential to deceiving and jamming enemy radar. As part of a program known as Adaptive Radar Countermeasures (ARC), BAE Systems will develop technology for a next-generation EW algorithm suite that will enable existing EW systems to operate against emerging radar threats, providing an essential capability to achieve air dominance. The company was awarded phases 1A and 1B of a three-phase, $34.9 million five-year effort.

Agilent Technologies Inc. announced plans to separate into two publicly traded companies: one in life sciences, diagnostics and applied markets (LDA) that will retain the Agilent name, and the other that will be comprised of Agilent's current portfolio of electronic measurement (EM) products. The separation is expected to occur through a tax-free pro rata spinoff of the EM company to Agilent shareholders.

Linear Technology announces the LT3795, a 110V, high-side current sense DC/DC converter designed to regulate a current or voltage to a constant value, ideal for driving high brightness (HB) LEDs. Its 4.5V to 110V input voltage range makes it appropriate for a wide variety of applications, including automotive, industrial and architectural lighting. The LT3795 uses an external low side N-channel MOSFET and can drive up to 90V of white LEDs from a nominal 12V input, delivering in excess of 50 watts.
