 The model MFC147 from TRAK Microwave provides 13.75 to 14.50 GHz coverage for civilian and military aviation Ku-band SATCOM applications, including In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems and UAV communications. The unit features a ruggedized design and innovative thermal management technique to withstand challenging airborne environments utilizing SMT construction with no open die. Input frequency to the Block Upconverter (BUC) is 950-1700 MHz, with Ku-band output of +12 to +17 dBm.  An integrated, low-noise, GaN, Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) provides 25 watts minimum output power providing better than -120 dBc/Hz noise power (-140 dBc/Hz typical) and <-22 dBc spectral regrowth (OQPSK). 

Modelithics Inc. and Qorvo announced plans to expand the popular Modelithics® Qorvo GaN library of high accuracy non-linear models for Qorvo transistors. The current GaN library version (v1.5) has 29 packaged and die transistor models. New plans include adding over 20 new Qorvo GaN transistor models. 

 Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. released a new series of thick film chip resistors designed to meet the demand for high voltages in industrial and medical applications while saving valuable PCB space. Vishay Draloric RCV e3 devices offer high limiting element voltages of 400 V and 500 V in the compact 0805 and 1206 case sizes, respectively.

Cirexx International announced that they will be presenting their ECLIPS technology at IMS2015 in Phoenix, Ariz., May 17-22. Cirexx will be in Booth # 2023. ECLIPS (Embedded Cooling Layer – Integrated Power System) is a system of producing high-power RF/microwave printed circuit boards (PCBs) employing an embedded low-CTE, thermally engineered metalized heat-sink layer which has superior thermal conductivity characteristics.

NI (formerly AWR Corp.), announces that NI AWR Design Environment™ V12—the first major software release in 2015—is now available as a pre-release to select customers, partners and evaluators. Previewing for the first time at International Microwave Symposium 2015 (IMS2015) at NI Booth #2431, this latest release boasts new load-pull and antenna- and radar-specific features, as well as ease-of-use improvements, speed enhancements and third-party integration flows.

Keysight Technologies Inc. announced that it has worked with MediaTek on the release of a manufacturing test solution for the MediaTek MT6735 mobile chipset, based on the Keysight E6640 EXM wireless test set. The MT6735, released in October of 2014, is an LTE 64-bit mobile SoC platform with integrated modem, RF and CorePilot™ technology, for use by global operators targeted at the emerging mid-range smartphone market called, Super-mid. The MT6735 builds upon MediaTek's existing LTE platform by adding CDMA2000 to create WorldMode modem capability.

Visit Intercept Technololgy at IMS2015, May 17-22 at Booth # 948 for a look at the company's ADS Board Link interface. It uses Keysight's ABL format to import schematic and layout information, in tandem with a library of ADS models in Intercept format.
