 The U.S. Army has awarded Raytheon Co. a $36 million contract to fund the certification and testing of a significant upgrade to the AN/ARC-231 Multi-Mode Communications System. The upgraded systems will provide the highest level of security for voice and data communications for more than 7,000 rotary, fixed wing and unmanned Army platforms – including Apaches, Blackhawks, Chinooks and Gray Eagles. 

Amphenol RF is pleased to introduce improved designs of our existing AMC to SMA cable assemblies. Design improvements were made to the SMA bulkhead mounting connectors allowing the non-IP67 cables to be mounted to panels with a max thickness of 3.2 mm. Cables with IP67 connectors are suitable for panels with a max thickness of 3.2 mm. 

Linear Technology Corp. announces the LTC3886, a 60V input dual output synchronous step-down DC/DC controller with programmable loop compensation and I²C-based PMBus interface. This controller employs a constant-frequency, current-mode architecture with programmable output voltage up to 13.8V. The LTC3886 is ideal for harsh environments requiring a high input voltage range commonly found in factory automation, industrial, medical, communications and avionic applications. 

 Skyworks Solutions, Inc., an innovator of high performance analog semiconductors connecting people, places and things, announced that it is expanding production capacity in Japan to meet the growing demand for its filter technology. Skyworks is facilitizing a two-story, 405,000 square foot facility in Osaka that will house the design, development and manufacture of filter devices to complement its industry leading front-end solutions and world-class assembly, test and packaging capabilities.

Anritsu Co. announces PCTEST Engineering Laboratory Inc. has acquired all elements of Anritsu’s leading LTE Enhanced Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services (eMBMS) test portfolio, including eMBMS RF Performance test cases on Anritsu’s ME7873L RF/RRM Conformance Test System (CTS) as well as Carrier Acceptance Test (CAT) and Protocol Conformance Test (PCT) test cases on the ME7834L Mobile Device Test Platform (MDTP).

 Peregrine Semiconductor Corp., founder of RF SOI (silicon on insulator) and pioneer of advanced RF solutions, announces that it has been awarded qualified manufacturers list (QML) certification, class Q (military) and V (space). After a thorough evaluation, Peregrine demonstrated to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime that it fully complies with MIL-PRF-38535, the performance specification used by the Department of Defense for monolithic integrated circuits that operate in severe environments. 

Creeannounced mixed fiscal fourth quarter and year-end financial results on August 11. For Q4, company revenue was $382 million, down 6.7 percent from the prior quarter and down 12 percent from the year-ago quarter. For the full year (FY2015), Cree revenue was $1.63 billion, down 0.9 percent from FY2014.  For fiscal year 2015, Power and RF Products revenue was $123.9 million, a 15 percent increase over fiscal 2014. CFO Michael McDevitt said the gain was "driven by growth in our power products."
