Fairview Microwave Inc., a supplier of on-demand microwave and RF components, introduces a brand new family of ultra-miniature UMCX, WMCX and HMCX32 cable assemblies. Commonly used to connect an external antenna to a mini-PCB, these flexible micro-coax jumpers offer operation from DC to 6 GHz and are ideal for use in wireless communications systems. NYU WIRELESS and NYU Stern School of Business awarded grant to study mmWave networks

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a four-year, $750,000 grant to NYU WIRELESS and the NYU Stern School of Business to evaluate the engineering and economic aspects of millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum and resource management. The mmWave bands are a promising new set of frequencies for next-generation cellular networks that offer orders of magnitude increased data rates relative to current 4G systems. The goal of the grant is to develop new technologies, economic models, and spectrum policy to realize the full potential of these bands.

Raytheon broadens cyber capabilities with acquisition of Foreground Security

 Raytheon Co. announced it has acquired Herndon, Virginia-based Foreground Security, a leading provider of security operations centers (SOCs), managed security service solutions and cybersecurity professional services.  The acquired company, which will be called Raytheon Foreground Security (RFS), accelerates Raytheon's expansion into managed security services across federal, international and commercial markets. RFS has approximately 165 employees, 85 percent who are trained cybersecurity experts.
