EDI CON USA 2016, taking place September 20-22 in Boston, Mass. at the Hynes Convention Center, is pleased to announce their Call for Papers. Authors are invited to submit technical oral session abstracts/proposals describing work in RF/microwave, EMC/EMI and high-speed digital electronic component or system-level design, modeling or testing. The EDI CON Technical Advisory Committee will review all submissions based on quality, relevance, impact and originality.

ANADIGICS Inc. announced that, on December 15, 2015, its board of directors, after consultation with its financial and legal advisors, has unanimously determined that an offer from a third party to acquire all of the outstanding shares of ANADIGICS common stock for $0.48 per share in cash pursuant to an all-cash tender offer and second-step merger constitutes a "Superior Offer" within the meaning of the previously announced agreement and plan of merger with affiliates of GaAs Labs LLC (the “Merger Agreement”).  

Keysight introduced measurement application software designed to help engineers quickly and accurately measure and quantify PAM-4 (pulse amplitude modulation with four amplitude levels) signals. The software is used with the Keysight S-Series, 90000A, V-Series, 90000 X- and Z-Series real-time oscilloscope platforms and the 86100D DCA-X Infiniium sampling oscilloscope.

MACOM acquired Cobham Aeroflex's diode and transistor business for $38 million in cash, combining the #1 and #2 suppliers of RF/microwave diodes.

Tektronix Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, introduced a more convenient and flexible way for engineers to control signal sources and generate waveforms. The new PC-based SourceXpress platform allows users to easily setup, synchronize, and remotely control multiple arbitrary waveform generators and introduces a versatile plug-in architecture for waveform creation modules that will span a wide variety of applications from high speed serial and coherent optical to RF and wireless.

The Navy’s Avionics Component Improvement Program (AvCIP) is prepared to accept proposals, from NAVAIR program offices, to award more than $10 million in funding toward fiscal 2017 projects, officials announced in December.

Amphenol RF is pleased to introduce anti-torque stainless steel connectors and cable assemblies to their expanding SMA product family. The new SMA connectors feature anti-torque bodies, which allow the user to hold the body with one wrench while simultaneously torqueing down the coupling nut to its mating connector with another. This helps to keep the entire assembly from twisting, thereby preventing damage to both the cable and the connector during installation.

Keysight Technologies is the first test and measurement company to achieve the silver status SC21 Award for its hardware and support services. SC21 is a U.K.-based change program designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace & defense industry by raising the performance of its supply chains.

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., a worldwide leader in satellite networking technology, satellite mobility solutions and services, announced it signed a development agreement with a major aerospace systems integrator to further develop both its Ku-Band Electronically-Steered-Array/Phased-Array Antenna (ESA/PAA) and Ka-Band technologies.

Anite has signed an agreement with Huawei for access to its OSS interfaces, which ensures that Anite’s Nemo products can accurately integrate with operators’ wireless network OSS infrastructure.
