U.S. Air Force selects Spectracom to supply time and frequency test equipment

Spectracom, a business of the Orolia Group, announced it has been awarded a contract to supply the U.S. Air Force Metrology Calibration Program (AFMETCAL) with precision timing and frequency test equipment over the next 5 years. Spectracom Frequency Calibrator/Analyzers will be used across several AFMETCAL projects to test and calibrate any device or system that relies on a precisely timed signal.

Cassidian's identification systems protect French armed forces

Cassidian, the defence and security division of EADS, will supply the French Armed Forces with advanced identification systems used to prevent friendly fire. The French defence procurement agency, Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA), has awarded Cassidian a contract to supply 150 units of its newly developed Monopulse Secondary Radar (MSR) 1000 I interrogator for the short-range friend-or-foe identification (IFF).

High inventory and low burn rate stalls Femtocell market in 2012

ABI Research’s latest forecasts for Enterprise and Consumer Femtocells, also referred to as Indoor Small Cells, estimate largely flat volume shipments in 2012 relative to 2011. The shipments in 2012 are expected to contain 2.44 million units, similar to the 2.47 million units shipped in 2011. In total, ABI Research estimates 5.3 million units will be deployed by end 2012.
