Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., is adding to its QUAD HIFREQ series of high-power surface-mount multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) with a new device in the quad 2525 case size. Designed for high-frequency RF applications in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) coils and generators, RF instrumentation, telecom base stations, lasers, and military communications systems, the QUAD HIFREQ 2525 case device features an ultra-high Q (> 4000 at 10 MHz, 1 pF), ultra-low ESR down to 0.018 Ω, and DC voltage ratings up to 3600 V.

AWR Corp., the innovation leader in high-frequency EDA software, and ANSYS, Inc., a global leader and innovator of engineering simulation software, announced that they have integrated ANSYS HFSS™ into AWR’s Microwave Office high frequency circuit design software. This integration unites the industry standard for full-wave electromagnetic (EM) field simulation and NI AWR Design Environment™/Microwave Office to quickly and accurately simulate microwave circuits.

Modelithics and Passive Plus, a valued Modelithics Vendor Partner (MVP), are pleased to announce the availability of high-accuracy simulation models for a number of Passive Plus capacitor families.  The Modelithics COMPLETE Library, now contains microwave Global™ models  for Passive Plus 0505C and 1111C Low ESR capacitors, and the 0201N, 0402N, 0603N, and 0805N ultra-low ESR capacitor families. A Passive Plus broadband capacitor model (0201BB104) has also been added, and features validation up to 65GHz.

The IMS 2014 Expo will be the center of Microwave Week, June 1-6.

RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for two “small cell” power amplifiers from TriQuint. The TQP2451 and TQP2453 support 1900 MHz and 1800 MHz transmitter designs respectively. With average power output of 2.5 W, both devices include 3 gain stages, the final stage being a Doherty design for high peak power performance up to 20 W. The TQP2451 covers 1930 to1995 MHz with power added efficiency of 38 percent and <-50 ACLR. The TQP2453 offers 35 percent PAE over 1805 to1885 MHz. Both the TQP2451 and TQP2453 utilize 18 V and 5 V Vcc. Both devices are offered in a 20 x 20 mm package for 3G/4G wireless infrastructure, linearized transmitters, MIMO and heterogeneous networks applicable to small cells.
