XTAR LLC, the first U.S. commercial provider of satellite services in the X-band frequency, announced that it has gained a significant segment of the growing airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (AISR) market over the last 12 months. These contracts represent more than 100 MHz of bandwidth and are valued at more than $8 million. 

API Technologies Corp., a trusted provider of RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security solutions for critical and high-reliability applications, announced the new SST™ Secure Communications Hub (SCH) with integrated encryption. The SB1500ER Secure Communication Hub is a single, integrated device that replaces case-based solutions. It provides both 3G or satellite connectivity and high grade (Type 1 equivalent) IP encryption. The SCH is currently deployed in the UK Government.

Anritsu Co. announces it was a sponsor of the third annual Disaster Management Initiative (DMI), held at Carnegie Mellon University, Silicon Valley (CMUSV) on November 4-5 at the university’s campus in Moffett Field, CA, in the heart of Silicon Valley. As part of the sponsorship, David Witkowski, senior product manager, Anritsu, led a session that focused on digital radio technologies for public safety, government, and infrastructure users.

ViaSat Inc. has received orders in excess of $11 million for Joint IP Modem Network Control Centers (NCCs), remote modems, and Joint IP Modem enhancements. These production contracts enable the Department of Defense to complete its roll out of interoperable network services to warfighters from teleports and Strategic Tactical Entry Points (STEPs). In addition, the orders include further development of the Joint IP Modem to enable efficient regional connectivity within a larger global network footprint. These awards follow successfully deliveries against previous contract obligations.
