AMETEK Inc. has acquired VTI Instruments, a leading manufacturer of high-precision test and measurement instrumentation, for $74 million.  VTI, acquired from an investor group led by Merit Capital Partners and Alerion Capital Group, has annual sales of approximately $38 million. 

National Instruments announced that it is the first vendor to execute a Manufacturing Test License (MTL) agreement with Broadcom Corp. The integrated microwave assembly designed by Phase Matrix for the demonstration is a broadband downconverter, which allows the successful acquisitioning and displaying of live signals at 100 GHz bandwidth.

Astrium has been selected by the European Space Agency to supply the MicroWave Sounder instruments for the MetOp Second Generation series of satellites.
