Cobham plc announces that it has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire Aeroflex Holding Corp. ("Aeroflex") for $10.50 per Aeroflex share in cash following completion, giving the proposed transaction an enterprise value of approximately $1,460m (£869m). 

Agilent Technologies Inc. announced its acquisition of electrothermal analysis technology from Gradient Design Automation, the maker of HeatWave electrothermal analysis software. Agilent EEsof EDA now has sole ownership of Gradient’s core technology and will serve customers of both the integrated Advanced Design System softwaresolution and Gradient’s HeatWave solution.

An international customer signed an agreement with the U.S. Government for a foreign military sale (FMS) of tube-launched, optically tracked, wireless-guided (TOW) missiles to be supplied by Raytheon Company in a deal valued at approximately $750 million.

Mentor Graphics Corp. announced that it has acquired Berkeley Design Automation Inc. (BDA), a recognized leader in nanometer analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit verification. With over one hundred customers worldwide, BDA uniquely addresses nanometer circuit design challenges via its Analog FastSPICE™ unified verification platform and exceptional vertical-application expertise. The acquisition of BDA aligns with Mentor’s goal to deliver technologies with superior performance and automation for the growing challenges of Analog/Mixed-Signal (AMS) verification.

Hittite Microwave Corp. announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to buy substantially all the assets of the Keragis Corp., a provider of extremely high power, wideband amplifier modules, located in San Diego, CA. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Hunter Technology Corp. announced its acquisition of the equipment and inventory assets of Spectral Response LLC (Lawrenceville, GA), an EMS supplier providing a broad range of product design and manufacturing solutions to electronics and RF OEM customers. This is Hunter’s second major acquisition in the past six months, following the purchase of assets of NBS Designs, Inc. (Milpitas, CA) last October.

AMETEK Inc. has acquired VTI Instruments, a leading manufacturer of high-precision test and measurement instrumentation, for $74 million.  VTI, acquired from an investor group led by Merit Capital Partners and Alerion Capital Group, has annual sales of approximately $38 million. 

Aeroflex Holding Corp., a leading global provider of high performance microelectronic components, and test and measurement equipment, announced the acquisition of Shenick Network Systems (“Shenick”), a leading edge provider of virtual testing for next generation software defined networking.

Tektronix Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced the acquisition of Picosecond Pulse Labs. The move is intended to strengthen the Tektronix portfolio in the growing market for test equipment to support 100G/400G optical data communications research and development. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  

M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings Inc. (MACOM), a leading supplier of high performance RF, microwave, and millimeter wave products, announced that it has successfully completed its previously announced tender offer to purchase all outstanding shares of common stock of Mindspeed Technologies Inc. (Mindspeed) for $5.05 per share in cash.
