Anritsu Co. introduces four digital modulation options for its MS2712E/MS2713E Spectrum Master™ handheld spectrum analyzers that bring the inherent advantages of the Spectrum Master – including ease of use, functionality, best-in-class price/performance and rugged design – to P25 and NXDN applications. With the new options, field personnel can use the MS2712E/MS2713E to accurately and cost-effectively install, maintain, and certify public safety and business communications systems.
The P25 and NXDN analyzer options provide a method to verify the operation of P25 or NXDN mobile and portable radio transmitters. With the options, the MS2712E/MS2713E can display constellation, spectrum, histogram and eye diagram graphs. In addition, a summary graph displays numeric values of received power, frequency error, modulation fidelity (Mod Fid), bit error rate (BER), symbol deviation, Network Access Code (NAC), and symbol rate error of the input signal. Both NXDN options support the 6.25 and 12.5 kHz bandwidths.
Users can measure and easily view signal strength, modulation fidelity, or bit error rate of a single P25 or NXDN channel as a function of time and location with the coverage options. The Spectrum Master combines the received signal data with time and location information from the internal GPS module to store results that can then be turned into coverage maps using third-party software.
The new options take full advantage of the large, bright 8.4-inch color touch screen of the MS2712E/MS2713E. Up to six measurement screens can be displayed individually, and four screens can be viewed simultaneously to quickly see the overall performance of an LMR transmitter.
