NXP Semiconductors is opening the RFID Application and System Center (ASC) in Tianjin, China. The facility will provide real-life conditions for evaluating and optimizing RFID applications and is the first of its kind in Asia. It will enable the company’s Identification business to strengthen the technical support provided to its customers in China and throughout Asia. These dedicated RFID technical services will help partners to optimize their RFID applications to help further the development of their products for the expanding domestic and global markets.
The 2,000 m2 facility is providing label customers, system integrators and end users with customized antenna design, read/write device optimization and customized RFID test environments. Within the center, NXP has created a number of experimental environments for different RFID applications, including electronic certificates, secure payments and energy monitoring. The NXP RFID ASC also offers advanced experimental and test equipment to assist in the development of fully optimized solutions.
"Our heritage in RFID and our most comprehensive portfolio of leading RFID IC solutions has enabled us to accumulate a wealth of experience and insight in RFID system optimization," said Steve Owen, Vice President, Global Marketing and Sales, Identification, NXP Semiconductors. “NXP is committed to help RFID system integrators overcome physical barriers, reduce technical risks and ensure the successful implementation of their clients’ projects.
