Exalt Communications announced the expansion of its licensed product portfolio to include the Exalt EX-4.5r Series GigE radio systems. These systems provide unprecedented throughput, reliability and security to US Federal Government agencies and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) 4.5 GHz band license holders. Exalt EX-4.5r Series systems support deployments in difficult RF environments and geographies across a broad range of applications, including battlefield communications, border security, video surveillance, mobile command and control, and homeland security.
The EX-4.5r Series GigE radio systems are built on the same universal product platform that has earned Exalt the reputation as the microwave innovator, providing native TDM and native Gigabit Ethernet transport with up to 440 Mbps of aggregate capacity at distances far greater than high capacity millimeter-wave radios, including E-band systems. The Exalt systems provide 500 MHz of spectrum coverage with 1 MHz frequency tuning, variable channel bandwidth and modulation, and exceptional interference rejection under extreme weather conditions and in the harshest of RF environments.
“Nowhere is the requirement for highly reliable, robust wireless infrastructure more crucial than in the support of military missions and homeland security operations,” said Amir Zoufonoun, President and CEO of Exalt Communications. “As a result, we designed our highly robust and secure 4.5 GHz GigE radio systems specifically for federal agencies and NATO organizations that build and operate high capacity, mission-critical long range networks.”
The Exalt EX-4.5r Series GigE radio systems are available with integrated or external antennas. Both models are easy to deploy, ideal for tactical situations in which set-up and tear-down time is of vital importance. The external antenna model is typically better suited for longer range and permanent deployments. Both systems provide 99.999 percent availability in even the most challenging of environments.
All Exalt radio systems – licensed and license-exempt – are carrier-class systems offering guaranteed link availability, guaranteed throughput and low, constant latency. Systems are available in frequencies from 2 to 40 GHz and in capacities up to 440 Mbps, providing a range of options to fit countless network applications. Designed to enable a smooth transition to IP, they offer native support for both TDM and Ethernet, and are fully software configurable and upgradeable. For easy and secure management using third-party network management systems, Exalt systems support SNMP v1, v2c and v3. Data security is provided by available FIPS-197 compliant AES 128-bit and 256-bit encryption that adds zero latency to the transmission. To simplify installation and maintenance, all Exalt systems feature an embedded manual and most include a built-in spectrum analyzer.
