The TDF Group has selected NEC Corp. as its supplier of DVB-T and DVB-H Broadcast Transmission equipment in France and the TDF Group's European affiliates. This new generation of NEC transmitters (either air-cooled or liquid-cooled, with power ranging from 30 W to 12 kW) will drive TDF's strategies of enhancing the coverage of Digital Terrestrial TV and ensuring rapid network deployment of Personal TV on Mobile. The TDF Group is also pioneering the development of DVB-H in Europe through services in Finland and Austria, as well as trials in France and Germany.
"Further to our existing customer bases in Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we are delighted that such a pan-European player as the TDF Group has recognized and selected the efficiency and reliability of NEC's solutions," said Michel Lignon, president and CEO of NEC France. "This represents a significant enlargement of NEC's European Broadcast footprint over the next three years, and a significant diversification of NEC France's Telecom infrastructure activities."
Patrick Babin, chief executive officer of TDF Group, added, "We have great expectations of the agreement with NEC to help us meet our primary goal of bringing customers the best technical solutions. We hope to build a strong partnership with NEC that delivers expanding services for many years to come."
