e2v technologies, one of Europe’s leading designers, developers and manufacturers of specialized components and subsystems, has formally inaugurated its new state-of-the art facilities, located in Baja California, adjacent to San Diego, CA, and within the binational Tijuana-San Diego region. The company’s Mexican operations will be supported by San Diego-headquartered BC Manufacturing USA, through a maquiladora manufacturing services agreement at one of their Tijuana, Mexico, facilities.
The new facility will initially employ approximately 50 people and will be responsible for production of industrial sensors and radar components, specifically for the North American and Asia Pacific markets.
When visiting the facility e2v’s CEO, Keith Attwood, commented, “These new high-tech facilities will enable us to assemble selected products to our exacting quality standards and to extend our operational base to be closer to our North American customers.”
Ken Swan, vice president of US operations for e2v, added, “BC Manufacturing’s maquiladora shelter is providing us with excellent management and production capabilities in Mexico, allowing us to use their experience while we maintain control of actual operations – it’s a ‘win-win’ situation.”
