DataPath Inc., a provider of satellite and wireless communications networks, has completed its acquisition of SWE-DISH Satellite Systems AB, a Stockholm-based, global leader in the design and manufacture of portable and transportable satellite communications (SATCOM) systems.
SWE-DISH's customers include US military organizations; German, British, Japanese and Swedish defense ministries; and leading global broadcasters.
The company is known for its innovative, reliable line of SATCOM systems with antenna sizes of 1.5 m and below, and its products complement DataPath's portfolio. This includes rugged, dependable terminals, network control software, wireless and baseband products, and field engineering services. Through the acquisition, DataPath also gains the ability to reach new customers in military, civilian, government and broadcast markets in the United States, Europe and around the world.
SWE-DISH will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of DataPath, and will retain its management team, corporate name and product brands. The company will continue to serve its US-based customers from its sales and service facility in Reston, VA.
