Verus® Research, a New Mexico-based team of scientists and engineers specializing in advanced research and development, announces it has been awarded a two-year $15.6 million contract from the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), in conjunction with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division. The company will develop an agile high-power microwave (HPM) test capability suitable for multi-frequency output in the X-Band region of the RF spectrum.

“We are honored to receive the new contract from NRL extending our relationship with the organization.” said Dr. J. Mark DelGrande, chief technology officer at Verus Research. “The program expands our work with the research laboratory on the ultra-wideband project in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center. It further extends our HPM development activities into new and novel technology spaces.”

Through the contract, Verus Research will work on the Dual X-Band program and coordinate efforts to employ cutting-edge technologies developed by NRL to achieve high-power and agility from a solid-state source.
