GPR, provider of Ground Positioning Radar™ for precise vehicle localization, announced its next chief executive officer (CEO) is Moran David. David will lead the company through its next phase of growth and global product deployment and will join GPR’s board of directors. Tarik Bolat, co-founder and former CEO will step away from day-to-day involvement but will remain involved with the company as an advisor.
David is a well-respected advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicle (AV) leader, bringing over 25 years of marketing, sales and operations leadership experience, including nearly a decade of automotive experience, to his new role. Most notably, David served as general manager of the Americas and Growth Strategies for Mobileye. Through his strategic leadership, David helped the company achieve exponential growth, tripling conversion rates across the marketing and sales processes and securing the company’s largest U.S.-based customers.
“I’m inspired by Moran’s vision to scale GPR into the standard positioning system in assisted and autonomous driving,” said Tarik Bolat, co-founder and former CEO of GPR, “The transformative product we’ve delivered combined with accelerating demand for GPR from the leading players in mobility make this the right time for a leadership transition as we embark on our next phase of growth. With his successful track record scaling advanced products in the automotive sector, David is an ideal leader to strengthen GPR’s existing relationships with the world’s largest OEMs and Tier 1 partners as they implement our breakthrough technology. I look forward to working with him and seeing GPR deployed in vehicles across the world.”
“GPR’s technology is one of the most important and impactful innovations in mobility in the last decade,” said David, “This product offers the most precise vehicle positioning system in the world and will bring a new level of safety to the mobility sector, making vehicles safer for everyone. I could not be more excited to build upon the incredible foundation and momentum that Tarik and the team have created.”
GPR’s technology scans the ground below the road, creating a 3D map of the road’s unique subsurface signatures. Vehicles enabled with GPR can position themselves with exceptional precision and reliability. The technology performs when other AV and ADAS sensors often fail, unaffected by common roadblocks, including poor weather, lack of clear lane markings or landmarks, and low service areas. This solution is critical for improving AV and ADAS vehicle safety.
David joins a robust leadership team, including prominent stakeholders on GPR’s Board of Directors and Advisors such as Roger Neilson, former Daimler Trucks North America President and CEO; Charles “Chuck” Stevens, former CFO of General Motors; and Kurt Lehmann, former CTO of Continental.
