Rohde & Schwarz announced that its R&S QPS201 security scanner has been placed on the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA’s) Qualified Products List (QPL), which approves it for use in U.S. airports and other TSA security screening facilities.
“We are thrilled that the R&S QPS201 security scanner has achieved QPL status,” said Frank Dunn, CEO of Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. “We look forward to continuing to work with TSA, airports and air carriers, to bring R&S QPS201 to U.S. airport security screening checkpoints.”
The R&S QPS201 enhanced Advanced Imaging Technology (eAIT) uses safe, mmWave RF technology to rapidly and accurately screen passengers for concealed threats. The R&S QPS system requires only a few milliseconds to scan passengers. The system’s open design and hands-down scan pose makes security easy and accessible for travelers.
With hundreds of systems in use at some of the world’s busiest airports since 2015, R&S QPS201 has also been approved for use by the European Civil Aviation Conference. R&S QPS201 is currently at three U.S. airports: Denver International Airport, LaGuardia International Airport and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport.
