RFMW announced design and sales support for a high power amplifier pallet from Ampleon. The BPF0910H9X600 LDMOS based pallet offers 600 W at 915 MHz. Pallets may be combined to produce higher output power and can replace older magnetron based designs often used in industrial applications such as drying, processing and curing materials or plasma generation. At the heart of the BPF0910H9X600 pallet is an Ampleon ninth generation, 50 V LDMOS transistor. The 50 ohm matched pallet has a typical efficiency of 68 percent and is optimized to cover the ISM band of 902 to 928 MHz. It is suitable for both narrow and wideband 915 MHz applications. An embedded copper heat spreader is incorporated into the pallet to improve overall system thermal design, and a built-in temperature sensor allows over-temperature protection.
