Intelliconnect (Europe) Ltd will be showing its market leading range of standard and custom RF connectors and adapters, cable assembly solutions and specialist cryogenic connectors at the ARMMS RF and Microwave Society conference and exhibition being held at Wyboston Lakes, Bedfordshire on November 18 and 19.

The ARMMS RF and Microwave Society was formed in 1982 and is an independent professional society comprised of Electronics Engineers with an interest in high frequency (RF and microwave) engineering. A non-profit making organisation based in the UK their main activity is running two conferences each year with an associated exhibition.  The original aims of the society have expanded over the years as instrumentation has become more automated and it now promotes diverse topics in radio and radar design and test, metrology, medical, materials testing etc. The ARMMS RF and Microwave Society also provides sponsorship for young engineers (28 years old or younger) who have papers accepted for presentation at a conference.

Papers being presented at the 2019 conference include; 24 GHZ FMCW radar with virtual antenna, an SMT packaged 4-channel mm-wave PA for 5G applications, artificial intelligence design of microwave antennas and mmWave beamformer chips with smart-antennas for 5G.

Intelliconnect are the RF and microwave supplier of choice for many leading European and North American Defence, Medical and Marine OEMs as well as smaller companies and for bespoke projects. They are now active in the fast-growing Quantum Computing market and have established the CryoCoax range of low temperature connectivity solutions.

Intelliconnect bring innovative thinking and tailored services to each individual customer. They understand that every project is unique and will require a different strategy and outlook. Providing an integrated design resource for customers, their passionate team are easy to get along with and ready to help, working every step of the way to achieve a first-class result.

Providing a reliable and efficient service from the start to finish of any project quotations are delivered within 24 hours and new designs turned around faster than any other supplier with no design engineering charge.

Intelliconnect manufacture their connectors, adaptors and cable assemblies almost exclusively in their own U.K. or U.S. factories ensuring the highest quality products and have an outstanding record of providing defect free products and an on-time delivery record of 97 percent.

On display will be its recently extended its range of award-winning solderless, field-replaceable connectors which provide simple attachment to 0.047, 0.085 and 0.141 in. semi rigid cables. This innovative clamp connector series offers customers an alternative for assembling connectors to semi-rigid cable with no loss in performance or reliability.

The stainless-steel 2.9 mm and SMA connectors have been designed for applications where reliability, durability, robustness and high frequency performance are very important. Typical applications include civil and military telecommunications, civil and military aeronautics, military equipment, space and measurement systems.

The Intelliconnect solderless connector range has many key features including field replaceable capability, guaranteed equivalent performance to solder connection, any no special tooling required.

Roy Philips, managing director of Intelliconnect (Europe), comments, “The wireless world is changing fast and while there is massive demand for product development it coincides with a real skill shortage in the U.K. for well-trained engineers. The Interlligent seminar is an opportunity increase awareness of the growing research and manufacturing opportunities in our industry to showcase our products to both delegates and the blue-chip speakers.”

Intelliconnect (Europe) Ltd manufactures a wide range of standard and custom RF connectors and components, including waterproof and fast turnaround custom designs which are undertaken without NRE charges to their customers. Intelliconnect also manufacture a large range of coaxial adaptors to facilitate inter-series connection and gender change etc.

In addition to custom cable assemblies Intelliconnect's cryogenic cables and components work to 2 K (-271.15°C) and are ideally suited to a wide range of applications including test and measurement, instrumentation, medical and material research and cryogenic systems including dilution refrigerators, superconducting magnet systems, low temperature detector systems, infrared array systems.

Intelliconnect holds SC21 Silver accreditation for the aerospace and defence supply chain.

Typical applications for Intelliconnect’s products include MIL and aerospace, medical, marine, oil and gas and general microwave markets.
