Harris Corporation has awarded Cobham Advanced Electronics Solutions several orders, valued at approximately $39 million, for RF microelectronics that will be used in an airborne electronic warfare (EW) system. The Harris system provides self-protection capability against surface-to-air and air-to-air radar guided threats by detecting, identifying and managing electronic countermeasures directed at threat radars.
Cobham’s Microelectronic Solutions business unit will perform the work at the firm’s San Jose and San Diego locations.
Andy Graven, the general manager of Microelectronics Solutions, said, “Cobham’s technology and manufacturing strategies allow for high levels of technical performance in demanding environments, while meeting the affordability objectives of our customers and end markets.”
Cobham’s Advanced Electronic Solutions group serves the defense, aerospace, security, medical, and industrial markets, providing off-the-shelf and custom products and subsystems using RF, microwave, high reliability microelectronics, antenna apertures and motion control components.
