RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support for CML Microcircuits’ CMX979 low power, dual RF/IF synthesizer IC. The CMX979’s RF fractional-N synthesizer section, with integrated VCO, takes only 36 to 45 mA to produce a 2.7 to 3.6 GHz output LO signal. The synthesizer's configurable 1/2/4/6/8 frequency divider can shift its output to as low as 338 MHz.
With only 9 mA additional current the device’s low power integer-N IF synthesizer, with integrated VCO and loop filter, can produce an output signal in the 500 to 1000 MHz range and its 1/4/8/16 configurable output divider can shift that to as low as 31 MHz. Targeted towards low power / low cost RF solutions the CMX979 combines RF and IF LO synthesizers in a small footprint to support super-heterodyne and single conversion radio architectures. On-chip calibration of integrated RF and IF VCOs ensures performance across temperature and supply voltage variations.
The CMX979 requires very few external components and is available in a small 6x6mm VQFN package.
