Peraso Technologies Inc. announced that IgniteNet has selected Peraso WiGig® infrastructure components to provide the core 60 GHz functionality in the MetroLinq™ family of outdoor wireless products.
The MetroLinq™ PTP60-35 and PTP60-19 are the initial entrants in the product family, providing the lowest-cost, high performance, interference-free 60 GHz solution in their class. Targeted for Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISP), small cell backhaul, video surveillance, private networks and new hybrid fiber-wireless, the MetroLinq™ family is license-free in most markets allowing ultra-fast deployment of links up to 1.5km.
"During the design process, it was essential to select an RF solution that provided the highest output power and a baseband solution that provided flexibility at all levels and could support value-added functionality and cloud support," says Harold Bledsoe, General Manager at IgniteNet. "The Peraso chipset achieved these criteria and has enabled a new price/performance that is disrupting the market and enabling solutions and applications previously unobtainable."
The Peraso 60 GHz lineup includes the PRS1126 direct conversion 60 GHz RFIC and the PRS4601 baseband IC to implement a protocol based on the IEEE 802.11ad specification. Additionally, a highly flexible software architecture provides the ability to implement the necessary higher level networking based functionality. The Peraso components are uniquely designed to operate across an extended temperature range from -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius.
"We are delighted to support IgniteNet as a key lead customer with our WiGig® infrastructure chipset," says Ron Glibbery, President and CEO of Peraso Technologies. "It's very exciting to see the launch of disruptive products that take advantage of the benefits of WiGig® -- enabling Gigabit per second performance without interference from the traditional 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and at uncharted price points."
IgniteNet's MetroLinq™ PTP60-35 will be on display at the Peraso suite at the Westgate Hotel, CES2016. To arrange a private demonstration, please contact john@perasotech.com, tony@ignitenet.com or CES-Booking@perasotech.com. Further information on Peraso chips may be found at www.perasotech.com.
