The citation reads as follows, “For the analysis, design and development of a host of frequency control products exhibiting state-of-the-art performance, including the development of extremely low noise crystal oscillator circuitry.”

Dr. Poddar graduated from IIT (India Institute of Technology) Delhi, India; Doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) from TUB (Technical University Berlin), Germany;  Post Doctorate (Dr.-Ing. habil) from BTU (Brandenburg Technology University Cottbus), Senftenberg, Germany.  Dr. Poddar is a Chief Scientist at Synergy Microwave, Visiting Professor at Oradea University-Romania, Guest lecturer at Technical University Berlin-Germany; Academic Advisory Board Member of Don Bosco Institute of Engineering, Bombay.

Dr. Poddar is a well known scientist. Previously, he has worked as a Senior Scientist from 1991-2001 at Defense Research & Development Organization (DRDO), India where he was responsible for FMCW RADARD based proximity sensors for underground and space applications at microwave and millimeter wave. Currently, Dr. Poddar is responsible for design and development of host of frequency generating components and signal processing modules that holds record in performances at Synergy Microwave Corp. in N.J.

Dr. Poddar has received over dozen awards for his scientific contributions and technological innovations, holds several dozen patents and published over 200 scientific papers in international conferences and professional journals, contributed as an author/coauthor of 6-technical books. Dr. Poddar was selected in the “List of Divine Innovators” in the November 2011 issue of Microwave Journal. His contributions are distinctive and commendable for good cause. Dr. Poddar is actively involved in professional IEEE volunteer service at various levels and non-professional charitable organizations for the benefit of humanity.

Dr. Poddar is a regular contributor to Microwave Journal. His recent three part series on Möbius Strips, in collaboration with Dr. Ulrich Rohde, of Brandenburgische Technische Universitat, has been well received by our readers. This award was for his outstanding work in the area of oscillator design.
