Anritsu Co. announced it will feature a sophisticated, cloud-based connected car system for fleet tracking developed by the University of Hertfordshire in the UK using Anritsu network simulation technology in its stand (Hall 6/6F40) at Mobile World Congress 2015 (MWC), to be held March 2-5 in Barcelona.

Anritsu’s stand will also show that the global test leader continues to provide the industry’s most comprehensive support for developers of new mobile device technology. Live tests of a mobile handset operating at the latest 450 Mb/s peak data rate, and of experimental 5G waveforms will be demonstrated throughout MWC by Anritsu.

The connected car demonstration will display an automobile’s diagnostics system connecting to the cloud via a simulated LTE network environment provided by Anritsu’s MD8475A mobile network simulator. An application in the cloud enables a fleet manager on any Internet-connected device to view the location and operating parameters of any fleet vehicle in real time. The MD8475A is a single-instrument solution that enables the university’s development team – from the Hertfordshire laboratory – to verify how the system’s in-car LTE modem will perform in mobile networks anywhere in the world, and operate according to all major global standards.

Mobile Device Test Solutions

Anritsu will exhibit test solutions that address both established and emerging mobile phone technologies. The MS2830A Spectrum Analyzer/Signal Analyzer, which provides a platform for the generation and analysis of candidate 5G waveforms, will be running live tests of signals from devices implementing the latest experimental 5G modulation schemes.

The stand will also display the new LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) ME7834LA protocol test platform and new ME7873LA RF test platform. Each platform provides market-leading GCF, PTCRB and carrier acceptance test coverage for LTE and LTE-A test plans, including support for 450 Mb/s data rate offered by Category 9 user equipment running 3CA (3x Carrier Aggregation) technology. The early availability of a working 450 Mb/s test system is consistent with Anritsu’s history of introducing certified test solutions to support new mobile phone standards before any other instrument manufacturer.

Network Monitoring

Another product introduction at MWC is a new ‘multi-dimensional assurance solution’ that expands Anritsu’s service assurance portfolio. Based on Anritsu’s existing MasterClaw™ monitoring system, this new multi-technology solution provides carriers with essential service-delivery information from every layer of an organization. Using the eoLive and eoSight applications, the aggregated data are processed with real-time network analytics and insights tools, and the results displayed with multi-dimensional views to provide the user with predictive analytics.

Also on view at Anritsu’s MWC stand will be:

  • The MT8870A universal wireless production test multi-RF platform, measuring Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® and cellular signals with a single system.
  • Innovative new field test solutions for cell site installation, PIM testing, and interference hunting in mobile networks, to ensure a high quality and reliable customer experience.
