To meet the growing demand for AEC-Q200-qualified parts, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced that its MC AT professional series of automotive thin film chip resistors is now AEC-Q200-qualified over its entire resistance range from 1 Ω to 1 MΩ. Designed to deliver stability under harsh environmental conditions in automotive and industrial applications, the Vishay Beyschlag devices offer high-temperature performance to +175 °C for 1,000 hours.
Offered in standard case sizes from 0402 to 1206, MC AT professional resistors feature tolerances down to ± 0.5 percent and TCR down to ± 25 ppm/K. While competing devices typically offer power ratings to 250 mW at +70 °C ambient, the professional series resistors provide a high power rating of 400 mW at +85 °C in the 1206 case size for increased reliability.
With their excellent moisture and sulfur resistivity, operating voltages from 50 to 200 V, and 1000 V ESD capability, the devices' typical applications will include engine control units, climate control, braking systems, power supplies, lighting, and sensors in automotives; telecom base stations; and industrial and medical measurement equipment.
The MC AT professional resistors are approved to EN 140401-801. Suitable for processing on automatic SMD assembly systems, the devices are RoHS-compliant and compatible with lead (Pb)-free and tin/lead (Sn/Pb) reflow and vapor-phase soldering processes.
Samples and production quantities of the MC AT professional resistors are available now, with lead times of six weeks for larger orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery varies by case size, TCR, tolerance, resistance value, and quantity ordered. For example, the MCT 0603 AT with a TCR of ± 25 ppm/K and tolerance of 0.5 % starts at about $0.10 per piece in 1,000-piece quantities. For more information visit www.vishay.com.
