All roads lead to Rome - this year, this also holds true for the microwave industry. Rohde & Schwarz will present its wide-ranging portfolio of T&M equipment for microwave applications at European Microwave Week 2014.
From signal generation and analysis in the microwave range to power measurement and vector network analysis in the highest frequency ranges: Rohde & Schwarz will showcase its T&M equipment for sophisticated wireless and A&D applications at EuMW 2014. In addition, Rohde & Schwarz specialists will hold 16 workshops and seminars at the event. The company's display (in hall 9, booth 102) at the Fiera di Roma exhibition center will include the following highlights:
Complex multichannel and pulse scenarios up to 20 GHz with the R&S SMW200A Rohde & Schwarz has extended the frequency range of its R&S SMW200A high-end vector signal generator to 20 GHz. It is the only instrument on the market to combine baseband generator, RF generator and fading simulator in one box. Now users can also take advantage of its outstanding flexibility, top performance and intuitive operation when generating complex multichannel scenarios in the microwave range. The R&S SMW200A now allows two broadband signals up to 20 GHz, modulated as desired, to be generated in a single instrument. Even fading and MIMO scenarios can be configured over the entire frequency range. Another highlight at EuMW: Rohde & Schwarz will present new options with which the R&S SMW200A can generate complex pulsed signals as are needed, for example, for tests on radar components. These options also take into account the influences of antenna patterns, antenna scans and the mutual positions of transmitter and receiver. The enhancements are targeted in particular at users in the fields of wireless communications and aerospace and defense.
Analysis of complex pulsed signals with the R&S FSW
Featuring an analysis bandwidth of up to 500 MHz, the R&S FSW high-end signal and spectrum analyzer offers developers of radar components for aerospace and defense and automotive applications a wide variety of analysis capabilities. The R&S FSW-K6 option for pulse measurements makes it possible to analyze complex pulse parameters at the press of a button. Even pulses with short rise and fall times can be automatically detected, measured and displayed in both the time and frequency domain. Users in the A&D industry will benefit from the R&S FSW-K60 transient analysis option and the R&S FSW K60H option for analyzing hopping signals. Chirp signals typical of automotive radar can be characterized using the R&S FSW K60C option for analyzing FM CW signals. The R&S FSW is the only product on the market that offers a resolution bandwidth of 50 MHz in swept mode, addressing the requirements of the ETSI EN 302 264 1 standard for road transport and traffic telematics in the 77 to 81 GHz band. The instrument uses external harmonic mixers to analyze signals in this frequency range.
First vector network analyzer featuring 24 test ports Rohde & Schwarz will present the R&S ZNBT, an innovative multiport VNA solution. Depending on the application requirements, the vector network analyzer can be equipped with up to 24 test ports. It covers the frequency range from 9 kHz to 8.5 GHz and offers, at each of its test ports, the high RF performance of a two-port network analyzer. It is able to determine all 576 S-parameters of a 24-port DUT at 201 points in less than 260 ms. In production lines, multiple DUTs can be measured in parallel and with high throughput.
Seminars and workshops
At European Microwave Week, experts from Rohde & Schwarz will conduct altogether 16 workshops and seminars. The wide range of subjects will include pulse generation for radar applications, the basics of radar waveform measurements and group delay measurements on broadband multicarrier signals for satellite communications.
