Oscillator Blanks
The Seiko Epson SG-8002 series oscillator blanks are designed to drive down lead times and price. These oscillator blanks are manufactured in volume and frequency programmed at the point of manufacture or distribution using phase-locked loop and programmable read-only memory technology to produce drop-in equivalents to current Seiko Epson types. Bulk manufacture and reduced stock volumes lower cost. The new oscillators will be frequency programmable in the frequency range from 1 to 125 MHz at 5 V, 1 to 90 MHz at 3.3 V. Preproduction volumes are expected to be deliverable within two weeks of order; production quantities in three to four weeks.

Wideband Varactor-tuned Gunn Oscillator
This wideband varactor-tuned Gunn oscillator can be used as a driver for TWT amplifiers, as a phase-locked source with wide tuning range, and as a source in a spread spectrum system and multiplier chain. In K- and Ka-bands, the unit provides an output power of +15 dBm (min) across a tuning bandwidth of 15 and 10 percent, respectively, of the center frequency. The output power flatness is 2 dB (typ) over 10 percent of the center frequency. This performance is achieved by a highly coupled varactor in the series design. An isolator is integrated to the oscillator to prevent load pulling effects of the Gunn diode. A regulator also is provided to protect the Gunn diode from damage due to excessive DC bias or reverse polarity. Also available are oscillators with similar characteristics for use in Q-, V- and W-bands.

Surface-mount OCXOs
The model 108 series oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) operates over a frequency range from 5 to 50 MHz, weighs less than 15 grams and measures 0.50 cubic inches. The unit uses either a precision AT or SC crystal to achieve a wide range of performance and cost levels. Temperature stabilities can be as low as +/-10 ppb from –40° to +85°C. AT versions of the OCXO are suited for microwave and synthesizer applications that require more economy while maintaining a high level of performance. The temperature performance for AT versions is as low as +/- 50 ppb from –30° to +70°C with aging rates as low as 200 ppb per year. Both AT and SC models are equipped with electronic frequency adjust, allowing for calibration or steering of the oscillator manually or through software control.
