Fox Electronics, a leading global supplier of frequency control solutions and an IDT company, now offers the low power FTP Series, a surface mount OCXO featuring a compact footprint of only 14.3 x 9.3 x 6.7 mm (L x W x H) and power consumption of only 0.6 W maximum.
The new SMD HCMOS OCXO incorporates a Stratum 3 clock for enhanced timing performance. When its timing attributes are coupled with its compact size, the low power oscillator can be used in a growing number of applications that require smaller, more dense, yet highly reliable, electronics. These include routers, gateways, base stations and switching platforms as found in the communications, data transmission and test and measurement industries.
Stability of the FTP Series is as low as ±50 ppb over a frequency range of 5 MHz to 40 MHz and an extended operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C. Using an industry standard footprint and available in a simple tape and reel configuration, the new OCXO is easily incorporated into automated production lines to save design costs and assembly time.
The OCXO provides a short term aging of only ±5 ppb maximum per day for the first 30 days and ±4 ppm long term for all effects. The internal heater and smaller packaging facilitates a quick warm up time to ensure the oscillator quickly achieves ready mode with accurate stabilities.
