Smiths Interconnect announces the appointment of Andy Humen as president of Smiths Interconnect Microwave, one of three operational business units alongside Smiths Interconnect Connectors and Smiths Interconnect Power.
Smiths Interconnect Microwave designs and manufactures microwave and millimeter-wave components, sub-systems, systems and antenna solutions for multiple end market applications including defense, aerospace, space and commercial wireless. The business unit comprises Kaelus, Radio Waves, Millitech, TRAK Microwave, Lorch Microwave, Channel Microwave, TECOM Industries, TRAK Microwave Ltd, Farran and EMC Technology/Florida RF Labs.

Humen earned a BSEE from the University of Maryland and has extensive experience in the microwave and electronics industry from his work for Northrop Grumman, ITT, Raytheon, L3 and, most recently, Cobham. During his decade-long tenure at Cobham, Humen held a number of leadership and technology roles, incorporating US and international experience and responsibilities. Immediately prior to joining Smiths Interconnect Microwave, Humen was Vice President of Engineering, Cobham plc.
Humen, who will be based in the TRAK Microwave facility in Tampa, Florida, commented “I am excited to be joining Smiths Interconnect Microwave and by the prospect of leading the Business Unit in its next development phase.
