Converter RFICs Serve Cellular & WiMAX Transceivers
Converter RFICs Serve Cellular & WiMAX Transceivers, 700 to 3900 MHz. New Mixers Deliver High Conversion Gain at 0 dBm LO Drive.
Chelmsford, MA, September 29, 2008 -
Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced four new Mixer/Downconverter RFICs which serve upconversion and downconversion applications in broadband, Cellular/3G, WiMAX/4G and fixed wireless systems from 700 to 3900 MHz.
The HMC665LP4E and HMC622LP4E are GaAs MMIC Mixer RFICs which are rated from 700 to 1200 MHz and 1800 to 3900 MHz, respectively. Both products incorporate a high dynamic range double-balanced mixer core, with integrated local oscillator (LO) and IF amplifiers, making them ideal for compact transceiver applications in cellular/3G and WiMAX/LTE/4G applications. These versatile converters deliver 10 dB conversion gain in downconversion mode and 11 dB conversion gain in upconversion mode, while the LO operates with drive levels as low as -3 dBm. The HMC665LP4E and HMC622LP4E also provide up to +23 dBm input IP3 and up to 36 dB of LO to RF isolation.
Also released are the HMC621LP4E and the HMC623LP4E RFIC Downconverters, which are rated from 900 to 1600 MHz and 1800 to 2700 MHz, respectively. These highly integrated converters include low noise input RF amplifiers which provide for an overall noise figure as low as 4 dB. In addition, the HMC621LP4E and the HMC623LP4E deliver up to 33 dB conversion gain, 45 dB LO to RF isolation, and up to +39 dBm output IP3. Both downconverters operate with LO drive levels as low as -3 dBm, and are housed in footprint compatible SMT packages.
The HMC665LP4E, HMC622LP4E, HMC621LP4E and HMC623LP4E are housed in RoHS compliant leadless 4x4 mm QFN SMT packages, operate from a single +5V supply, and are ideal for cellular/3G and WiMAX/LTE/4G infrastructure applications.
Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company’s e-commerce site or via direct purchase order. Released data sheets are available on-line at www.hittite.com.
