Supporting Leading Wireless Technologies, the MS271xB Family Increases Production Yields and Lowers Cost-of-Test for WiMAX, CDMA, HSDPA, EVDO and GSM Manufacturing Environments.
Anritsu Company has enhanced its MS271xB family so that the economy microwave spectrum analyzers now provide specialized demodulation hardware and pre-written test routines for six popular wireless system configurations – Fixed and Mobile WiMAX, W-CDMA/HSDPA, cdmaOne, CDMA2000, EVDO, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE.
Covering 9 kHz to 7.1 GHz, 13 GHz, and 20 GHz and featuring best-in-class dynamic range and phase noise, the MS271xB family can quickly and precisely measure wireless components to increase production yields and lower cost-of-test. Thirteen new measurement options are now available for the MS271xB family, bringing unprecedented versatility to the general purpose instrument category. The options cover RF Measurement and Demodulation, and are software test programs with pre-written test routines. Each test option features a long list of measurement functions, with displays showing both measured data and computed parameters.
The three models in the MS271xB family can conduct accurate measurements on all the leading wireless standards because of their overall performance. Their wide 10 MHz demodulation bandwidth supports the 13 wireless test options and reduces production test costs. Fast and accurate measurements are ensured through the spectrum analyzers’ 100 dB dynamic range, and their excellent spectral purity increases repeatability and throughput of local oscillator testing. Ease of use has also been improved with the MS271xB family.
A new Limit-Line creation capability has been added to the Anritsu Master Software Tools™. With this feature, the user can create and modify display limit lines, make changes or compare them to actual signals. A Broadcast Spectrum limit version is available for transmitter testing to FCC standards.
The zero-span function now has digital time markers, allowing RF power vs. time measurements to be made with improved accuracy. Additionally, the marker function is now scrollable. Measurement speeds, remote I/O data transfer, and button response times are all faster. For test automation creation, MS271xB programmable test functions are now available on LabVIEW®, permitting easy test writing with high-level languages.
Compactly designed, the MS271xB family measures only 242H x 372W x 339D (mm) and weighs 5.6 kg. The analyzers provide flexibility in the manufacturing environment, as they have 256 MB compact flash drive, 2 GB USB flash drive, Ethernet, and USB2.0 connectivity to archive setups, update firmware, and transfer results. Another benefit of the MS271xB family on the manufacturing line is its whisper-quiet operation.
Starting U.S. prices are $12,950 for the 9 kHz to 7.1 GHz MS2717B, $16,950 for the 9 kHz to 13 GHz MS2718B and $19,950 for the 9 kHz to 20 GHz MS2719B. Delivery of the spectrum analyzers and the new options is 6 weeks ARO.
