Christopher French Appointed Vice President and General Manager of Rohde & Schwarz Canada
Columbia, MD, November 26, 2007, Rohde & Schwarz today announced the appointment of Christopher A. French as Vice President and General Manager of Rohde & Schwarz Canada, reporting to Jack Cowper, President of Rohde & Schwarz Canada. He is responsible for the overall management of Rohde & Schwarz Canadas operations including sales of test and measurement equipment, broadcast transmitters, and aerospace and defense products. Christopher French comes to Rohde & Schwarz from Mondial Teknology, where he was a partner and executive vice president. At Mondial, which employs messaging products to help companies optimize their branding strategies, he set company direction, built the companys North American direct and indirect sales and support organization, and established worldwide sales support channels. Before joining Mondial Teknology, he spent 10 years at Telecommunications Techniques Corp. (TTC), now Acterna/JDSU, where he joined as general manager for the companys Canadian operations and later became Director, Americas, and finally Director of European and Canadian Operations. Mr. French received his BS degree in industrial and scientific instrumentation from Seneca College (Toronto, Ontario) and has executive MBA from the University of Western Ontario. He lives in Mississauga, Ontario. Chris French not only brings a wealth of management experience, he has a decade of experience in sales and marketing throughout Canada, which is an increasingly important market for our company, said Jack Cowper.We have set high goals for Rohde & Schwarz Canada this year, and I'm certain that Chris will play a key role in ensuring that we will reach our objectives. Rohde & Schwarz Canada has steadily increased its sales of test and measurement, broadcast, and defense products since its inception in 1970. Rohde & Schwarz FM as well as analog and digital television transmitters are used by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), and Canadian government organizations including the Coast Guard and Ministry of Defence rely on the companys test equipment and communications systems. The companys test and measurement products are also widely used by many wireless equipment manufacturers with development organizations in Canada, as well as by Canadas wireless service providers. In September 2006, Rohde & Schwarz Canada further expanded its capabilities with a new 10,000 ft.2 facility in Ottawa, Ontario, which provides extensive service facilities for calibration and repair, customer support, and sales activities.
