Price Reductions on Two Leading Bench and System Digital Multimeters
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 4, 2007 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that, as a result of recent manufacturing-efficiency improvements, it has lowered the prices of its two leading 6 1/2 digit digital multimeters (DMM). The cost of the popular Agilent 34401A industry-standard DMM will be reduced by 9 percent; the high-performance Agilent 34410A DMM will be reduced by 19 percent. These DMMs are part of Agilent's family of instruments used in a wide range of applications across aerospace/defense, wireless communications, automotive and other industries. With an installed base of more than a quarter million units, both the Agilent 34401A and 34410A offer an established record of reliability and market-leading performance. The Agilent 34401A industry-standard DMM was the basis for the 34410A, which is now being used by customers who need a higher-performance LXI-compliant solution for new development or replacement of older DMMs. The Agilent 34410A offers a robust Agilent 34401A compatibility mode to help customers upgrade without having to modify their test code. The Agilent 34410A also offers a data logger for capturing and storing measurements. "As a result of recent manufacturing-efficiency improvements, we've lowered our DMM costs and are pleased to pass these cost savings on to our customers," said Scott Sampl, vice president and general manager of Agilent's System Products Division. "Now customers can buy the Agilent 34401A for less or can choose to upgrade to the high-performance Agilent 34410A DMM at an equally attractive price." U.S. Pricing and Availability The industry-standard 6 1/2 digit DMM Agilent 34401A and the high-performance 6 1/2 digit DMM Agilent 34410A will be sold at $1,070 and $1,295, respectively.
