TD Industry Alliance (TDIA) and Aeroflex Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp., announced that Aeroflex has been granted non-council membership status to TDIA.
TDIA is a trade group promoting mobile communications enterprises based on TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE, international telecommunications standards proposed by China. Aeroflex is one of the first global test and measurement (T&M) instrument vendors to become a member of TDIA. Aeroflex’s TD test solutions have been widely adopted by Chinese manufacturers.
The TDIA Counsel alliance’s resolution states that Aeroflex’s portfolio of T&M solutions for research and development (R&D) and production testing of TD infrastructure equipment, terminals (handsets and other user equipment), and integrated circuits (chips) have received wide recognition. TD standards and related industries are now being adopted for broader mobile communications development worldwide.

Test systems development key to TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE deployment
Based on successful deployment, TD-SCDMA is currently moving on a fast development track. As a mainstream 4G (4th Generation) international telecommunications standard, TD-LTE has progressed significantly with active participation and joint promotion of global vendors. TD-LTE has formed a complete supply chain that covers all key nodes including infrastructure equipment, chips, terminals, and test instruments.
With over 20 countries building TD-LTE networks, the TD-LTE industry is moving toward international deployment. Development of test systems specifically for TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, and TD-LTEA will be the key for further development of the TD industry. The TDIA resolution granting Aeroflex’s non-council membership of TDIA will help speed up development within the TD industry. The resolution was passed during the 17th council meeting of TD Industry Alliance and announced on Sept. 15, 2011.
