Rogers Corp.’s High Performance Foams Division will be exhibiting its BISCO® silicone materials at the upcoming Aircraft Interiors Expo at the Hamburg Messe (Booth #6A40), April 5-7, 2011. BISCO® materials on display include the A2 Sound Barrier material, BF-1000 premium carpet padding, and the next generation development aircraft seating foam.
Rogers will also stage a BISCO A2 Sound Barrier Challenge at its booth where participants can experience the reduction in noise by using the A2 material. Participants will be entered in a drawing to win a free Bose® Noise Canceling Headset.
BISCO Silicone materials are used by aircraft manufacturers and tier suppliers for high performance sealing, gasketing, cushioning and vibration/noise control. They offer superior flame, smoke and toxicity (FST) resistance, excellent performance over a range of temperatures, and extreme resistance to compression-set and creep.
The BISCO A2 Sound Barrier is a solid silicone rubber engineered to meet rugged FST requirements and to block sound transmission reducing noise in aircraft interiors. Rogers has recently introduced an improved version, the BISCO A2R, with greater tensile strength and durability. These enhancements allow the new BISCO A2R (reinforced) to be used in more places throughout the aircraft interior and also within the acoustic insulation package.
