Abracon announces the acquisition of NEL Frequency Controls, Inc.

 Raytheon Co. announced it has acquired Herndon, Virginia-based Foreground Security, a leading provider of security operations centers (SOCs), managed security service solutions and cybersecurity professional services.  The acquired company, which will be called Raytheon Foreground Security (RFS), accelerates Raytheon's expansion into managed security services across federal, international and commercial markets. RFS has approximately 165 employees, 85 percent who are trained cybersecurity experts. 

 Altair Engineering, a U.S. based engineering company, recently acquired EM Software & Systems-S.A. based in Technopark which sees FEKO, the electromagnetic field analysis software now becoming part of HyperWorks.  With this acquisition Altair will now have a local presence in the South African market, covering all sales and support activities in the region. 

 Averna, an industry-leading developer of test solutions and services for communications and electronics device-makers worldwide, announced that it has acquired U.S.-based Cal-Bay Systems, a privately owned provider of test systems, test and measurement solutions, automated testing and vibration monitoring tools.  

Gowanda Electronics, a US-based designer and manufacturer of precision electronic components and inductors for power, radio frequency (RF), and high frequency (HF) applications, is teaming up with its recently acquired sister company, TTE Inc., also a US-based company, to provide a broader range of electronic components to the global design engineering community. TTE Inc. designs and manufactures RF and microwave filters for critical markets including defense and test & measurement.

AMETEK Inc. has acquired VTI Instruments, a leading manufacturer of high-precision test and measurement instrumentation, for $74 million.  VTI, acquired from an investor group led by Merit Capital Partners and Alerion Capital Group, has annual sales of approximately $38 million. 

Mentor Graphics Corp. announced it has strengthened its automotive software solution by purchasing the AUTOSAR assets, including the Mecel Picea AUTOSAR Development Suite, from Mecel AB.

OEM Capital was asked by Miteq Inc., a privately held technology company, to assist in the sale of its M C L subsidiary to a strategic acquirer.

Element Six, the world leader in synthetic diamond supermaterials and member of the De Beers Group of Companies, announced it has acquired the assets and intellectual property of Group4 Labs Inc. (Group4), a semiconductor wafer materials company that manufactured Gallium Nitride (GaN) on-diamond semiconductor technology for RF and high-power devices.

Teseq Holding AG, a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and systems for EMC emission and immunity testing, has acquired New York-based Instruments for Industry (IFI), a leading designer and manufacturer of solid state and traveling wave tube (TWT) amplifiers. The acquisition expands Teseq’s model range from an upper limit of 6 GHz up to an upper limit of 40 GHz and power levels from an upper limit of 1 kW to an upper limit of 10 kW.
