Panel Participant Bios:

Moderator – Microwave Journal®
Pat Hindle, Media Director

Pat Hindle is media director for Microwave Journal® and has been with the magazine for 12 years. He parlayed his process engineering background into a management role in marketing communications for several leading microwave semiconductor manufacturers including MACOM, Raytheon and Skyworks (Alpha Industries), in addition to working at MIT Nanostructures Laboratory manufacturing X-ray diffraction gratings for space research telescopes like Chandra. He has a B.S. in Materials Science Engineering from Cornell University and MBA from Northeastern University. In his current role as MWJ editorial director, he is responsible for setting MWJ’s editorial direction and developing marketing opportunities for industry clients. He has been the conference manager for EDI CON China and helped launch Signal Integrity™ Journal plus co-hosts the Frequency Matters videos and podcasts.

Qorvo
Pete Moosbrugger, Director, Advanced Antenna Technology

Pete Moosbrugger is a Director of Advanced Antenna Technology at Qorvo and is responsible for managing the antenna team, the antenna technology roadmaps, and supporting key customer activities. Prior to the Qorvo acquisition of Anokiwave, Pete was VP of Advanced Antenna Technology.

Prior to joining Anokiwave, Pete was the Chief Technologist for the Phased Array mission area at Ball Aerospace, where he worked for more than 21 years developing phased array technology for the US government and commercial markets. He holds numerous patents, has written technical articles for more than ten publications, and has spoken on numerous panels discussing commercial satellite communications and 5G topics.

Pete earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

TMYTEK
Su-Wei Chang, Founder and President

Mr. Su-Wei Chang received the B.S. degree in EE from the Feng-Chia University in 2005. He then worked in Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy & Astrophysics (ASIAA) as a mmWave receiver engineer, where he was involved in developing the mmWave and sub-mmWave receiver systems for radio telescopes. While working in ASIAA, he was leading and developing the 200-600 GHz receiver for Sub-Millimeter Array (SMA) and has been invited to Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Later on, he received a master's degree and is a Ph.D. candidate in the ECE at UMass-Amherst. His research interests include low noise, cryogenic circuits design, and applications, silicon-based MMIC up to mm-wave bands. He founded TMYTEK in 2014 and is currently the president. Recently, Su-Wei received the Young Scholars‘ Creativity Award of Pan Wen Yuan Foundation. He published 48 papers in SCI international journals, which were cited 694 times. H index 15, i10 index 20.

Fujikura Ltd.
Dr. Ning Guan, Fellow, Electronic Technologies R&D Center

Dr. Guan is a Fellow at Fujikura Ltd. focusing on technical support to mmWave development and market-in strategy.

Since 2000, he has been with Fujikura Ltd. Japan, working on the analysis and design of optical fibers and devices for telecommunications, microwave devices for mobile communications.

Recently, his main job shifts to leading the development of mmWave components and phased array antenna modules for 5G applications.

He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.

Rohde & Schwarz
Fabrício Dourado, Senior Application Engineer, T&M Application Development

Fabrício Dourado is a Senior Application Engineer at Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) Headquarters in Munich, Germany. Since joining R&S in 1996, he has held various roles in test and measurement product marketing and technical support across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. From 2001 to 2019, he focused on Asia, collaborating with customers and system integrators to enhance product development and automated test systems.

Initially specializing in mobile radio and production line remote control, Fabrício later focused on component testing up to 500GHz, multi-port network analysis, and base station testing. Since April 2020, he has concentrated on 5G, automotive radar, and over-the-air (OTA) testing. In 2023, his focus shifted to OTA mmWave phased array testing in 5G NR FR2, and at IMS2024 in Washington, DC, he demonstrated 4.8Gsps OTA linearization for carrier aggregation signals up to 800MHz bandwidth. Before R&S, he automated semiconductor thermoelectric characterization at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Cologne. He holds a degree in Electronics Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica in São José dos Campos, Brazil.

He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
